My Sport Live and Anytime Fitness are both excited to announce the latest Anytime Fitness Grant Program recipients to receive funding to have their events live-streamed.
In February, the Ringwood & District Cricket Association will be hosting its’ very first Veterans’ competition Grand Final in the 20-over format and every ball of the match will be broadcast LIVE.
In March, Victorian Junior Roller Derby (VJRD), supported by the Victorian Roller Derby League (VRDL), will showcase the 2019 Victorian SLAMboree, with some of the best up-and-coming junior roller derby talent from across Australia broadcast LIVE on the first day of competition.
The two events follow on from a successful broadcast of the Australia Day Dandenong Club Lawn Bowls tournament in January.
Speaking about the new events being added into the Grant Program, Anytime Fitness Local Area Marketing representative Fred Drew said he was excited to help showcase such wonderful community events.
“Both of these events are the exact reason we are working with My Sport Live to help support our local communities,” he said.
“To have a T20 game through the RDCA and roller derby through the VJRD that are both supporting active participation within local communities is exactly what we want to be part of.
“We have gyms all across Victoria entrenched in local communities, in positively promoting health and supporting healthy lifestyles, and these to events are definitely in line with these values.
“I can’t wait for us to be part of the action!”
RDCA President Michael Finn, said it was a wonderful acknowledgement for the work being done within their association, and said he was rapt to be a successful program recipient.
“This competition has been revolutionary within community cricket in Victoria as it brings players back onto the field and allows them to participate in a friendly, social environment.
“To receive the funding is great recognition of the hard work done by everyone within our association, and we can’t wait to showcase what will be a fantastic, fun event on Tuesday the 26th of Feb.”
VRDL Juniors Coordinator, Tara Kennaway, said that the funding received to showcase the 2019 Victorian SLAMboree in March would give the sport and the club a massive leg-up.
“We have so many people actively involved in our sport, and have an incredible community ethos around everything that we do in the world of roller derby,” she said.
“To be able to showcase that to the masses is in itself a wonderful opportunity, but to also partner up with a community partner like Anytime Fitness again echoes what we are all about, so we are thrilled.”
Further announcements of successful grant applicants will be made in the coming weeks.
